Portraits in Oil
HOLLY RAE HENSON
On each day of this three day workshop, we will focus on a different phase of the portrait painting process, while working from a photo reference. The goal of the workshop is to equip artists with a guide for honing foundational skills and a repeatable process, so they can return to their studios to create luminous lifelike portraits. This workshop is suitable for newer artists who are intimidated by the idea of approaching a portrait project. Additionally this workshop is suitable for more seasoned artists who feel they are reinventing the wheel each time they begin a new portrait or would generally like to strengthen their approach. By learning and practicing a repeatable process, the goal ultimately is to give more freedom of expression in creating believable portraits filled with poetry and spirit.
